You know what would be nice……to not have a sinus infection, the flu, tonsillitis or laryngitis just ONCE this winter. Just not be sick for like over a week or something. That would be awesome :-) I sound like such a grouch! Here’s some good news, I can now bring my hockey stick and baseball bat on an airplane with me. Such a relief! I always have to leave those at home and it’s such a bummer.
How do you even get a hockey stick in the overhead bin storage??? Better yet, how do you get down the aisle with a hockey stick?? Is it a common item that people travel with?? Also, why are they broadcasting it everywhere? It’s like they’re begging all the crazies to come out. Although it would be kinda funny to see what everyone’s reaction would be if the only thing you carried on a plane was a baseball bat. Or not. I may not be flying again until TSA rethinks that decision. Then again, if someone came after me on an airplane with a baseball bat, I would just stab them with my 2.36″ blade, because that’s allowed now to ;-)
In other news……. I took some pictures. Fun, huh?! :-) First up is Baby Hayden and his pretty hair. You know how with baby girls, you can cover them bows, head bands, bonnets, ruffles and on and on??? Well…..with baby boys…you’re a bit limited :-) So I had some hats and a bow tie ready to use on Hayden, but as soon as his grandma pulled that car seat cover back and I saw that head of hair, I just couldn’t really bring myself to put more than one hat on him :-)
The morning of Hayden’s shoot, I got an email from Stephanie. They had just adopted a week old baby girl and wanted to know if I would be coming to Kirksville anytime soon and if I could do some newborn pictures. You know that awesome feeling you get when something just falls together so perfectly??? Well I think that’s how Stephanie felt when I replied back with, “well I’m actually here right now and if you could do tomorrow afternoon, I’d love to do some pictures!” She replied back to me with, “I can’t tell you how big my smile is right now!” Love those moments :-) Miss Evey must have gotten into the sugar bowl because this baby girl was WIDE AWAKE for pretty much her entire shoot. We finally got her to sleep at the tail end of her shoot, but she put up a good fight :-) Sometimes it can be really hard if they’re awake for their shoot, but Evey was so chill and let us do just about everything. Such a good baby girl :-)
Once I got back to St. Louis, I met up with this cute little red head, Reed :-) Reed liked me, but really wasn’t super big about the whole photo shoot biz. I thought I would get him with the cupcake, but I failed at that as well. He was n o t i m p r e s s e d. I did get his brother Keifer on my side though! I think I’m pretty cool in his book :-) We did manage to get some smiles out of Reed, so it ended up being a good shoot! Plus I got to meet another super cute family!
The next morning I met up Will at the City Museum! Sometimes I forget how much I love that place. So much fun :-) We started off in the quiet and non-crowded Architectural Hall. This is where Will spied the airplane on the roof and became obsessed, like most little boys. His dad held up him up to the window to look at the airplane, his mom held him up and then……………….then he looked up at me and wanted me to hold him up. Most people would put down their camera and pick up those sweet baby blue eyes to look at the airplane, but………..me…….well I gave him a “awww, you’re so sweet!” and started snapping pictures :-)
And then there was Miss Chloe! She turns One in three weeks, but mom didn’t know if her outfit would survive her birthday party, so we opted to do pictures first :-) Chloe always makes us (her mom, her grandma and myself) work for the smiles, but oh man did her mom have to work this time. We did this one inside, with a backdrop and a floor and that means we had to keep Chloe in that general vicinity….which is like 5 feet x 4 feet. Keeping a 1-year old in a space that small while also staying outside of the picture frame is a WORK OUT. Grandma was behind me doing anything and everything to get Chloe to smile, but that girl just wanted to get to my camera and push all those buttons :-) We tricked her just enough though! Happy Birthday Miss Chloe!!
Believe it or not, I’m actually heading back to Kirksville again tomorrow. But in my defense, my last trip was not planned . If I would have known that I was going to be back that week, I probably wouldn’t have scheduled to be back there this week. BUT I have a couple shoot’s scheduled and Amanda and her crew are coming back for a week, so back to Kirksville I go :-) I know that I’ll start getting over this current sinus infection on about Saturday and then on Sunday, Colton & Carolina will roll up with their little snotty noses, uncovered sneezes and overall lack of concern on germ spreading. Then I’ll be sick again. Oh don’t worry, all hope is not lost….they both know how to use hand sanitizer Carolina spreads that stuff all up in her hair like no one’s business!
