Oh man….where to start. My poor blog, it get’s so neglected these days. I would have never thought it would get this neglected though :-( Things are just so stinking busy and it’s hard to keep up on the blog. It’s a good problem though!
I’m trying to think of what all has changed since I last posted WAY back in MARCH?!? Business is still busy as ever, yayy :-) Family is still crazy as usual, ha! In early May I got to jump in on Molly’s 21st Birthday trip to Disney World!! We had been debating on what we were going to do for her birthday and ultimately, my parents decided to take her to her favorite place….Disney World. My mom invited me to come along and of course I said yes :-) It was definitely different from our last trip to Disney World (see HERE) and while we all missed having everyone there with us, it was AWESOME! Briley & Ellie did not find it so awesome though. When Ellie found out we were going without her, she cried herself to sleep. When Briley found out, she just couldn’t wrap her head around it, it made no sense to her. She thought it was selfish of us to do that to them :-) Carson, however, was VERY excited for us! He told his mom, “oh they are going to have so much fun!” Just a classic example of male vs. female point of views :-) It was a great trip and I think we’re all really wanting to go again! We are such Disney World addicts :-) Actually, we were able to do the “Keys to the Kingdom” tour at Magic Kingdom and I have to say that was pretty darn cool. I couldn’t take pictures, so I don’t have anything to show you, but I will tell you that you should take one of the tours if you ever get the chance! By the way, this is a mix of cell phone and big fancy camera pictures :-)
We got a yellow rose “fast pass” to the new Be Our Guest restaurant at the Beast Castle. SO AWESOME!!!! They’re doing a trial run for allowing fast passes to their busier restaurants and we got picked to be a part of the Be Our Guest trial :-) Normally you get a red rose when you go into the restaurant, but the yellow ones were for the trial. We were special :-)
The re-vamped Dumbo ride! It was so pretty :-)
Later that afternoon we made our way over to the Beast Castle for our lunch :-) They have snow falling in the ballroom!!!!
You could pick to eat in three different rooms. The Ballroom (where we ate) the Main Dining Room or the Forbidden West Wing (in next picture)
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love the Toy Story Mania ride. Young or old, everyone loves it :-)
Her birthday ears that mom and dad got her on her actual birthday, awwww :-)
Happy 40th Anniversary to these two cuties!!!!
I’m sure I’m not the only one who has always dreamed of having The Liberty Tree in their own backyard??!?!
Possibly one of my favorites :-)
All of the following pictures were taken during the “Wishes” show, the fireworks at the end of the night and the electric parade! Disney has never failed at being a magical place to me. It sounds cheesy, but you really have to be there and experience it all. Exhausting at times?? Yes. But SO SO SO worth it!!!! THANK YOU MOM AND DAD!!!!
After Disney World, we flew back to St. Louis and drove straight to Sara & Ryan’s new house from the airport. That was their first official day of moving in and I think Ryan was happy to see us at the end of the day. With us being there, that meant he had to stop working and visit and I think he was excited to have us as a excuse, ha! I was greeted at the door with HUGE hugs from Bella & Brady and that was the exact moment I’ve been waiting for since they left almost 3 years ago :-) They moved in on Monday, May 13th and we’ve already had our fair share of adventures, ha! I actually haven’t really gotten any pictures of their new house, but I’ll post them when it do.
As soon as we got Sara & Ryan back to Missouri, we found out Caroline & Jared are moving to Tampa, Florida! Although we’re sad to see them go further away and we’re sad that they have to leave their cute, new house they just built……we’re all kinda pumped that they’re going to Florida and are going to be somewhat close to Disney World :-) THEN, to top it all off, we JUST found out that Amanda & Todd will be moving to Louisville, KY very soon!!!!! We are SUPER excited to have them so much closer than they were in Dallas :-)
So there you have it! Those are the changes in the Early family :-) In early July, we go on our big beach vacation to the Seaside, FL area and then we’ll be awaiting Baby Finely’s arrival in Mid-late August!! Never a dull moment, ha! I have a feeling it’s going to be a very busy summer :-)
Sooooooo…..since I’m going to try and start blogging more regularly, let’s kick things off with a wedding!!! Jackie & Todd were married over Memorial day weekend in Kirksville. The Ceremony was at Mary Immaculate and the reception was at the Lancaster Country Club. I’m not gonna lie….the day started out like a “I want to stay in my pj’s and watch movies and nap all day” type of day. DOWNPOURS all morning long. I guess if rain on your wedding day is good luck, full on downpours must take it to a whole new level :-) I knew the reception was at the Lancaster County Club, but I didn’t know if it was going to be inside or outside for the most part. I honestly didn’t know the set up of the country club because (this is embarrassing to admit) even though I grew up in Kirksville, parents still live there, go there all the time and……I had never been to Lancaster Country Club. Super excited I finally went because there is a bridge on that course that I’m IN LOVE WITH. You’ll see it soon :-)
Normally I try and set up some sort of “meeting” with a bride and groom before we get to the wedding date, but it’s harder to do when you don’t live in the same city. So this would be my first time meeting both of them. We started off the day with pictures at Mary Immaculate and once I got there, I was able to meet Jackie for like 2 seconds before I had to head back over to the church to start family pictures with the grooms side. I was kinda bummed because I would have loved to chat with her for like 10 minutes, just so she could ask any questions and get some reassurance of me (since we’ve never actually met, face to face), but we had to get things going. I’m fine either way (meeting them before or at the wedding) and I can typically just jump right in and be comfortable with people, but I know it usually takes other people more time. I just hoped that she would catch on to my “whatever you want, just let me know” attitude :-) I had asked if they wanted to do anything along the lines of a “first look” or if they were waiting to see each other at the alter. She didn’t know what I meant by, “first look” so we just kinda left it at that and I assumed they would just see each other at the alter. Well…..I was getting ready to start family pictures with Todd’s side and all of a sudden, in walks Jackie!! Smiling ear to ear and looking adorable as she walked down the aisle towards Todd :-) Totally unplanned and I was totally not ready (but I did snag some pictures) but that is when I knew that we were just fine! Jackie and Todd were just as laid back as me :-)
Next we wanted to do some pictures of just them somewhere other than the church, but they didn’t really know where else to go. I told them they were in luck because I was a Mary Immaculate girl and I went to grade school there :-) It was so much fun to do pictures in that tiny little gym that I grew up playing in. Never new it could be so cute :-)
Ok these next shots will absolutely be cropped better once I give Jackie & Todd their final images, but I could NOT post them on here cropped. They each have something in common with each other and I could not stop laughing once I noticed it. First one to figure out what I’m talking about wins a prize :-)
Yep…..there’s a little boy just snoozing through it all :-)
Off to the Country Club we all went!!! Oh….and look who woke up with a ton of energy?!? Stripe shirt kid :-) I should probably stop picking on this kid, I don’t even know him. I think he’s pretty funny though ;-)
We started off with some pictures of just Jackie & Todd, but then went and grabbed the rest of the wedding party for some group shots. I have to say that this is one wedding party that I totally felt like I could be my smartalec self with :-) They were fun! They had fun ideas and they put up with my silly requests….even when my requests didn’t pan out as planned. They just laughed and went along, which then made for cute pictures :-) I have to include a lot of funny shots from the day. I think that’s what Jackie and Todd want anyway!
This was at the very beginning of their pictures. I can’t even remember what I was asking them to do, but I didn’t communicate it very well and they ended up like this. Obviously they added in their own little fun poses :-)
this would be an example of one of the more “true to character” shots that I got. I think I have more of those than I do posed shots :-)
and this is where the wedding party enters and my ideas don’t pan out as planned :-)
I typically do a certain shot with every wedding party. It’s the one where they all line up and walk towards me, while they pretend to be laughing and talking and having so much fun. I’m sure you all know which one I’m talking about. Well…..it was almost impossible with this group :-)
First try…… bridge proved to be too skinny.
It got awkward so we moved onto the “sassy walk” picture for the bridesmaids just so I could make things more awkward :-) They always feel stupid doing it, but I think it makes for the most genuine laughing, candid looking pictures. I always get some of my favorite pictures from the “sassy walk” shot!
Normally I don’t do the sassy walk pictures with the groomsmen, but they felt they could do it better than the bridesmaids :-)
Such a fun group!
Next it was time for some food, cake and dancing!! While we did pictures, they provided everyone with wine and snacks. I thought the fruit snacks and popcorn were so fun! I know my nephew, Owen, would have been a happy camper just hanging out by that snack table :-)
I thought their cake approach was such a neat idea. The only real part of their cake was the top tier. The rest of it was made by Todd’s mom and was fake so that they could use it in their house eventually, as a decoration or for future parties! How much fun is that?!? They they served everyone cupcakes :-)
Their first dance was Jason Marz’ I Won’t Give Up On You :-)
My time was up after they finished the first dances, so I don’t really have any of anyone else dancing, but I did manage to snag this one :-)
Congratulations, Jackie & Todd!!! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your big day :-)
