I made my way back to Kirksville this afternoon. I was welcomed home by my little sister Caroline standing in the front door in her towel saying “Heeeeyyyyyaaaa! I totally forgot you were coming home!”… Gee, thanks :)
The house was soon invaded by the Farwell family and they are always excited to see me, which always makes me happy :) Allison and Andrew gave me a surprise gift that I was in desperate need of and their timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I was sitting there saying that I really needed to go get an external hard drive because I had WAY too many pictures on my computer from vacation and my past several photo shoots and it was totally slowing down my computer and making me nervous. Well… Allison came walking around the corner and said, “we got you a little surprise” and it was an external hard drive!!! YAYYYYY!!! THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH! My family is so ridiculously supportive, interested and willing to do anything to help me get this business up and going. They tell everyone they see about my photography, they all put flyers out at their workplaces, they want to help me with a business plan, they got me a new lens and several other things for my camera, they are already helping me get things organized for the Red Barn Festival that I’m doing in Kirksville in SEPTEMBER and they are also doing a million other things. Their amazing- hands down the best family in the world. Thanks guys :)
I wanted to share my conversation that I had with Jackson over dinner this evening. Actually, Molly, Caroline & Jared were also involved in the conversation. We were asking Jackson who he was going to marry (because we are his aunts and it’s our job to embarrass him) and we named off a couple girls and he finally said that there were a number of girls that wanted to marry him, but he didn’t want to get married because “then their always kissing you.” OH it only got better from there.
Lissy: So where do you want to live when you get married? The beach?
Jackson: No, I think I will just live with my mom.
Lissy: So you and your wife are going to live with your mom? Seriously?
Jackson: No, I told you I’m not getting married. I’m just going to be a kid.
Lissy: You just want to be five forever? Or do you want to get a little bit bigger and then stop growing?
Jackson: Welllll, excuse me (his new thing is to say well excuse me) I just don’t want to be a grown up.
Lissy: Well you said you wanted to have kids and you can’t have kids until you are a grown up.
Jackson: No, I don’t want kids because I don’t want to be a grown up.
Lissy: Why don’t you want to be a grown up?
Jackson: Because then you have to get a job
Lissy: Well what else makes you not want to be a grown up?
Jackson: Because you have make dinner
Lissy: what else (I totally kept him going)
Jackson: You have to make lunch and lunch is hard to do because kids won’t eat anything
Lissy: anything else?
Jackson: Yeah, then you have to make your kids to chores.
Lissy: Oh, is it hard for your mommy to get you to do your chores?
Jackson: Yeah, sometimes she gets a little angry with me.
Lissy: So do you think I’m a grown up?
Jackson: No, you aren’t married.
Caroline: I’m a grown up?
Jackson: Nope, you aren’t married and you live with grandma & papa
Lissy: What about Molly?
Jackson: No she is just a kid like me.
Lissy: What about Kaitlin?
Jackson- Nope, she’s married but she doesn’t have a job.
Lissy: So you aren’t going to get married because you don’t want to be a grown up and you don’t want your wife kissing on you?
Jackson: Yep, Jared and I aren’t ever getting married. Girls are annoying. Right, Jared?
Jared: Yep, girls are annoying.
I think I could talk to Jackson for hours! He also informed me that five year olds have the smartest brains. LOVE HIM! Anyway- I just wanted to share that intelligent conversation :) I also promised him that I would post these pictures of him showing is “super strong muscles” and his amazing super hero ability to fly super duper high! If you haven’t noticed…everything is super in Jackson’s world :)
Here you go Jackson- Love you :)
