So while we were at the beach my family decided that I needed to get a picture of myself for my blog… I hate pictures of myself. Ugh, I’m always disappointed in them. Don’t worry- I’m not going to sit here and be like “I’m so ugly, I hate my face, blah blah blah.” I’m partial to my freckles, I love my blue eyes and I like that my hair has a mind of it’s own, but I hate the way it all photographs… I’m just not photogenic on a whim. It take’s me a good hour and a half to make myself photogenic :)
Anyway, we planned on doing my picture on the night I was taking everyone’s family pictures, so I made sure to blow dry my hair and put on make up. Well, I forgot to put on mascara and I forgot to curl my hair and by the time I was done taking everyone’s pictures I looked like I had been caught in a tornado. The breeze down by the water was strong that night and when I said to my sister, “Hey, let’s do my picture for the blog real quick” and she said, “Don’t you want to do your hair and put on some make up?” We both busted out laughing when I told her that I actually did put on make up and I did blow dry my hair. Mascara does make all the difference :)
Sooooo we attempted to do the picture the next night after I took the Farwell’s family pictures and a couple other grandbaby pictures. That was our last day at the beach so I stayed down on the beach till 6:00 (along with drunk Caroline… she decided to drink all the leftover alcoholic beverages in the house…it was hysterical to watch her in the water…I should probably do a whole other post about that evening, right Caroline? ). After the beach I ran up to the house, showered real quick, threw my hair in a ponytail, slapped on some mascara (forgot the rest of the make up this time), ate dinner and went down to the beach to take more pictures. If I let my hair dry while it’s in a ponytail it get’s super wavy/curly and I usually like the way it looks. Well, it wasn’t dry by the time we were ready to take my picture and I basically looked like a wet dog. I went ahead and put one up on the blog and I don’t know if I’m liking it. I have another picture from the beach, but I kinda feel like I need to do a picture after I spend my hour and a half making myself photogenic. Thoughts?

I can relate to the “not photogenic” thing because I’m not – ever. You look great – happy, sweet, honest!
I’m partial to your smile and it’s always beautiful.
But if you aren’t happy with this picture, just find another one that you’ve always liked and make it work for your blog.
I’m looking forward to Saturday and hoping for nice weather – see you then!
