She is really going to disown me for this one :)
So today was a nice Monday because I didn’t have to be at the Sedlaks house at 7:00AM, but it was sad because I didn’t get to have my Monday With Bella :( I called Sara when I woke up and Bella was equally as upset as I was. I talked to her for a bit and she seemed like she was depressed, it sounded something like this “mama mama mama, dada dada dada,” She’s totally saying “Lissy” right???
Since I didn’t get to do my Monday’s With Bella….I decided Monday With Mary Carol would be just as entertaining :) My mom is doing a million and one things to get ready for this Thanksgiving bash and I don’t think she was to thrilled with me sneaking up on her and snapping pictures. I didn’t get any pictures of her early this morning because I do not get up at 4:00 AM like some other crazy lady I know. But I did capture this moment when she was yelling at me because I wasn’t ready to go to Wal-mart and she thought I was making fun of her freshly blow dried/not styled yet hair
No, I’m just kidding. She was actually saying to me, “do you just want to stay here and work and I can pick up your stuff for you at Walmart?” yeah, she’s the best :) Later in the afternoon this boy she likes a lot came over for lunch and they decided it would be romantic to prep 4 freaking turkeys. That’s right! They made FOUR turkey’s today
and then I said, “HEY, THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!” not really, I just wanted you to look over here :)
How cruel is this?? The house smelled like Thanksgiving dinner all day and we got nothin. They decided to cook half the turkey’s today (and freeze them) and then cook the other half on Thanksgiving. So we had to smell the joy of Thanksgiving dinner all day…and then not have it. Although my dad did let me sneak some Turkey as he was carving it! He’s the best too :)
I know you are all thinking, “What the heck are they doing to that Turkey?” Well….we actually cook our Turkey’s in a Cooking Bag. It keeps all the yummy stuff contained and it makes the Turkey super moist. We also use turkey breasts, not whole turkeys.
After I starred at the turkeys for a good 5 minutes, I ran downstairs (where my mother was sewing stuff for me) and asked her if I could have some turkey :) andddd this is the look she gave me. Like a, “I’m sewing these things for you and I’ve done a million other things for you and your asking me for turkey that I’ve already told you you can’t have?” type of look.
I’m pretty sure she was about ready to kick me out at this point. I would kick my daughter out too if her room looked like this every time I walked past it that day
Then, while we were eating dinner, I told her that I was doing a post called Monday’s With Mary Carol…and she got all embarrassed and hid behind little Lincoln.
after dinner, it was back to the business of getting the turkey ready. It was a very difficult process trying to save the broth from the turkeys. Look at these two, it looks like they are doing surgery!
Here they are carving the turkey and discussing Dancing With The Stars, ha!
You might be asking yourself why we save the broth from the turkeys….well, it’s for the noodles. A lot of people don’t know about noodles and I feel so so so sorry for you if you don’t. You cook the noodles in the turkey broth (not store bought turkey broth, it has to be actual turkey broth) and they become this amazing substance that our family just can’t seem to live with out. We used to have a lady make our noodles (Noodle Lady…I know, very creative) but she had kids and didn’t have time anymore. So we decided to get our dad a kitchen aid mixer so we could make our own noodles. This is round 5 of noodle making for my parents for the upcoming Thanksgiving bash. FIVE batches of noodles.
Molly was very excited about helping hang them so they can dry
oh man they’re sooooo good. We actually had an old K-Life volunteer contact my sister through Facebook to get the recipe for the “noodle gravy thing” that she had at a Klife Volunteer Thanksgiving Dinner my parents hosted like 10 years ago…yeah, they’re that good.
Then I decided to take a bubble bath because my eyes were going crossed, they hurt, my neck hurt and my head was throbbing from being at the computer all day. I came back downstairs after I was done and my mom got me some sort of icey hot creme, re-warmed my heating bad for my neck and gave me a cushion to sit on, awwww. And to think, she did all that after I annoyed her the whole day. What a good mom :) Then she said, “you’re annoying, I’m going to bed!”
Actually no, she didn’t really say that. She was just going upstairs to work on someone’s Christmas gift.
So that was Monday with Mary Carol. She is a busy lady and pretty hard to catch, but she’s pretty fun!
I have a sneak peek from my shoot today, but’s not ready to post yet. It will be ready to go tomorrow morning! Now- I’m going to continue to edit and upload. Have a good night :)

I enjoyed “Monday with Mary Carol” in spite of having it replace Bella’s day…and although I’m only a few blocks away, I never seem to see my friend and it was nice to know she had a busy and productive day.
Now, back to Christmas preparations (and Thanksgiving, too….)
