Just as an update for anyone that knows…or doesn’t know. Our dad fell off an arbor today (cleaning out gutters) and fell onto the cobblestone patio. It was a pretty rough fall and he ended up breaking his collar-bone, doing some stuff to his arm/wrist and getting a pretty big skull fracture. Luckily the skull fracture wasn’t a super deep laceration (just a fracture) and the only alarming thing about it was that it spreads pretty much all the way across his head. He was taken to Columbia by ambulance (because Kirksville doesn’t have neurology) and my mom, Allison & molly followed behind. Sara & I drove from St. Louis and we will all be staying the night while they keep my dad for observation. The Neurologist saw him tonight and they say everything looks pretty good, given how high he fell from. They will watch his head overnight and then they will start more stuff in the morning. There is a big chance he will need surgery on his collar-bone because it wasn’t a very clean break and it’s more jagged. They will decide that tomorrow as well. That’s all we know for now, but it looks like everything is going to be fine as far as swelling or hemorrhaging goes…which was our biggest concern because of the blood thinners from his stroke.
SO…prayers for my dad, my mom & my family would be awesome! Also pray for Allison and that she makes it home ok. She had drove my mom & molly down, visited my dad and then had to leave at 12:30 to drive back to Kirksville…she also managed to book us a hotel room & keep everyone calm :-)
I have a two sneak peeks to post, but I haven’t had time to get them ready. I got a phone call from my sister right when my photo shoot was finished. I immediately threw a bag together and hit the road, so I haven’t had a chance to get the sneak peek’s ready. hopefully I can get them up tomorrow while we wait for some answers.
