Last night was a good night. This morning, not so much. I currently have 3 pots sitting on my bathroom floor collecting water that is dripping from my bathroom ceiling…awesome! I called my landlord and left him a message, but who knows when he’ll call me back. Is it bad that I woke up at like 4 AM to use the restroom and totally walked through the massive puddle on my bathroom floor and didn’t do anything about it? Is it bad that I got up this morning, showered, got ready and then decided to start mopping up my bathroom floor after I was ready for the day?? I guess I just knew that it would probably take a while to fix and I would rather get ready and do all the things I need to do…then call my landlord and let him come destroy my bathroom. Sara & Ryan…looks like I might be moving in for a day or two!! Woo Hoo!!! Get excited Ryan, I know deep down that you really really love me :)
ANYWAY- back to my original reason for this post. Last night was a good night ( LOVE that Black Eyed Peas Song) because…Trent & Ashley….I finished your wedding pictures!!!! Yayyyyyy!!!! I let half of them upload last night and I’m going to let the other half upload today and then we should be good to go :) As I was going through yesterday and finishing up misc. editing here and there, I fell in love with all the pictures my wonderful second shooter took. Miss Molly, you captured some of my FAVORITE shots and I think I spent like 3 hours editing them yesterday because I just couldn’t stop!!! I know you have to get the group, posed, everyone look this direction type of pictures, but I just love the candid one’s so much more. In fact, I love them so much more that I think when it comes time for my wedding (ha ha!) I don’t even want to keep the posed pictures. I want the pictures that the second shooter get’s of the group while the photographer is trying to get the posed picture. You see what I mean? It’s kinda confusing. I still want the main photographer to take the posed picture, but I don’t want to keep them. I like the style of everyone gathered together and looking in one direction, but I like seeing it from a different view point. I like seeing the picture from the view point that no one is looking at. A lot of people say they don’t even want posed formal pictures taken…that’s not what I’m saying. I think people try too hard to be candid when they are aware that only candid pictures are being taken. SOOOO that’s why I love the pictures that my little sister Molly took. She was off to the side (being so patient and putting up with all my craziness) just snapping away and she caught all these cute/funny little moments that I love. I love that she caught the groomsmen smelling his boutonniere while the bridesmaid looks at him like “did you really just do that?”, I love that she caught one of my closest friends being all cute and sweet with her husband (although she will probably kill me for putting that picture up), I love that she caught Ashley genuinely laughing in the sunset, I love that she caught the flower girls being so patient, I love that she caught the craziness of trying to get a bunch of toddlers to smile for the camera and I love that she caught the mischievous (but oh so cute!) little ring bearer trying to sneak off. I LOVE IT MOLLY!!! You did awesome :)
Leave molly some encouraging comments and let her know what a great photographer and creative person she is because I don’t think she believes the rest of us when we tell her that. Seriously- this girl is super creative and I can’t wait to see what she does…maybe she will join forces with me :) You should have seen the video she put together for Kaitlin & Zane’s wedding (which was not shown because of an extremely annoying DJ) it was awesome and I wish everyone could have seen it. She also designs tons of shirts for all their school functions/events. She’s good :) Not to mention she is just an awesome girl all around! These day’s you can’t find a whole lot of 17 years olds that aren’t into trouble everyone 5 mins, have morals, don’t have attitudes the size of Texas, spend time with their families and are actually just true, genuine, honest, good kids!! Not to mention she puts up with all the crap she get’s from having 6 older sisters, 1 older brother, 4 brother-in-laws and 1 sister-in- law. Not saying that some of the crap she get’s isn’t merited :) Molly- you are a great kid and we are so lucky to have you as a baby sister.
Barnes and Detweiler families, enjoy another sneak peek and I will be emailing you sometime tonight with a link to view ALL of your pictures. Yayy!
P.S.- I don’t really watch any show’s religiously. BUT I did happen to catch The Modern Family last Wednesday night and I thought it was HYSTSERICAL!!! I can’t wait to watch it tonight. YOu all should too :)

Great job, Molly. You definitely share the photographer gene that Lissy has! I also need to comment on your patience and great attitude throughout the entire evening – I observed it and was truly impressed how dedicated you were to helping your sister and doing a professional job. Way to go…both of you are terrific! Love you both!

Hey Molly, I normally don’t leave comments because our awesome computer can’t handle them but I have to tell you that these truly are some of the sweetest pictures I have seen of a wedding. I agree with Lissy, these are keepers. Lissy’s are amazing also but I expect it from her. I say go ahead and drop out of school and get started on your career with Lissy! I can’t choose a favorite because they are all perfect! They look like you might see them in Marth Stewarts wedding magazine and as we all know that is where the ultimate wedding idea’s come from! Just check out Mom’s wedding magazine collection!
